Default "relevant information" popups

Admin,
How do you disable this feature? I don't find them relevant. I do find it annoying. Every page, the cursor grabs one of these and covers text I'm trying to read. Like having a kangaroo on your lap while you drive!

Pop ups? What pop ups? I'm not aware that there are any pop ups on this forum. I've never had any pop ups open when I've been on this site. What are they advertising? I think your computer may be corrupted somehow.

Ah, I just had a thought! Do you mean the pop ups that open when you place the cursor over a link for a few seconds? If you do, then avoidhovering the cursor arrow over underlined words (links) & the pop ups won't open. If you do open one of these pop ups, you can close it straight away by clicking the X button in the corner of the pop up or simply moving your cursor arrow off the word.

I hope this helps, CTiggerPigglet!

Thanks, CTig. Yes the popups I refer to are the hyperlinks scattered throughout the page. If it worked like you say, it would be tolerable. However, after just reading your post I did a little test and confirmed what I saw. If you cross any of these links at any speed you get a popup. You absolutely do not have to hesitate. You can cross it as fast as you can move the mouse. What this translates to is that unless when entering any page on this site (or before maneuvering within), if you don't stop, look around, and plot your mouse pointer path as if you were evaluating a minefield, you get these windows all over a screen where you are trying to read. I can't be the only one here that sees this? Is there a fix? BTW After posting this response I was returned to the thread where I see that my inadvertant, stupid use of the word "drive" in my original post, has morphed itself into a "relevant" advertisement for Microsoft Windows (no doubt the last two words will likewise morph themselves!

I don't think you can turn this feature off. But I have to hover my cursor over the link for a few seconds before the pop up appears, so you may be able to adjust this feature. (But I don't know how.)

It may be thatmyinternet connection ison dial up, are you on broardband? (Ya see, quicker isn't always better!)[8D]

To be quite honnest, I hardly ever hit these links with my cursor. I open the post, then place the cursor on the scroll bar, so I can scroll up & down.
