Awesome in-car acceleration from 2010 Porsche 911 TT
I was lucky enough to drive the new 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo at the press launch in Estoril, Portugal last week. I work for Racelogic, so I put some of our latest video/timing equipment on board.
It's an amazing car!

They have virtually eliminated turbo lag by using direct injection, a dry sump, increased compression ratio and clever cooling/expansion inlets meaning the boost has dropped to 0.8bar (1.0bar overboost), and with the variable geometry turbos, this has made almost instant throttle response.
Acceleration times from three runs:
The handling was sublime, we regularly saw 1.2G braking and cornering, and the latest Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) system really made the turn in very sharp when you carry a little too much speed into the corner. You could jump on the gas pedal really early through the corner, and the car just catapulted out with huge amounts of torque. Simply stunning! All the journalists who drove it were mightily impressed. Lots of small improvements all round made for really big improvement overall.
